about
This one is/isn’t about someone I know. What I mean by that is that its both me speaking to another person but at the same time having a dig at myself in a kind of really egoistical self depreciating way as if to say ‘get over yourself and get on with it’. It’s about questioning - do the things you believe, the personal ethics/methodologies/beliefs/feelings that you base yourself on or are your personal foundation really mean anything in the end. I’m not sure if they save anyone or protect him or her. So I’ll leave it up to someone else to tell me differently.
lyrics
Well the days are an easy fight, if you know how to lose
At night never love, the person next to you
Just look into their eyes, and you will find
They’d already left, before they had arrived
And for all your misdemeanors, for all your good cheer
There’s no one for you, to care for you hear
And just when you’ve overcome, self-loathing and trust
Slowly eclipsed and discussed
PC:
And you’re so goddamn proud
And I don’t know how
Not for the first time, I just want to lay down
With my eyes closed
When back at the beginning, you think about the end
Like all your faults, are the things you defend
As the light pales, from winter tying its hands
Endlessly revealing, that you don’t understand
And this is not my day job, this morning parade
The Ferris wheel ride, the suggestions of blame
In a daily paper, or a monthly magazine
All this embroidery, to repair at the seam
PC:
And you’re so goddamn proud
And I don’t know how
Not for the first time, I just want to lay down
With my eyes closed
C:
And you, are so, Goddamn proud
And I, I don’t, know how
When you call, you call, call me out
Cause you, are so, goddamn proud

Open the gates & stand clear Suicide Swans are an Australian band through constant live shows display the ragged glory and
swagger of rock, laid back country & dashes of pop, that has seen the band grow into a live force they term cosmic country. Their live sound includes waves of keys, textures & a new found penchant for experimentation, tossing in a mix of country, rock and a hint of pop....more
Be warned, there is a darkness at the heart of this album. To me it speaks to the bleakness and sickness of the human condition, howls its message at the turbulent sea, a bible opened forever at Revelations as the world, real or imagined, crumbles. Deeply personal and oblique this is one to return to and wonder at the meaning carved into the lyrics. A little work on behalf of the listener justifies a trove of rewards. Also, be sure to check out the video for “Vultures” on YouTube. halfpenny_wayne
